Where are you located?
We are located at 2386 Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview, Kamloops. To reach us from the highway, turn on to River Road (at the Nissan dealership) and take your first right! Check out our map to see exactly where we are.
What time is your service?
Our service begins at 10:30 am every Sunday morning.
What should I expect?
You can expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. When you first walk in the doors you will be greeted by someone who will shake your hand and welcome you. Then, as you go through the lobby area and into the auditorium, someone will hand you a bulletin of what the service will be about. Normally, there is an insert where you can take notes during the Pastor’s message.
Once the service starts, you can expect our music worship team to open with a song. Don’t worry if you don’t know the words, there are big screens with the words for those of us with good, but short memories! After the opening song, we usually greet one another and get an update on our church family. We then we sing a few more songs and the kids are then dismissed to go to Valleyview Kids while the adults hang back and sing one more song. Next there is a message spoken by one of our Pastors or guest speaker.
Lasting about 35 minutes, the message is Bible based and is usually a mix of reality and humour. The Pastors have a good way of relating the message with real life-- it’s definitely not boring! Finally, there are some quick announcements to keep everyone aware of upcoming events and happenings. That’s it, the service is over! Coffee and goodies are then served so you can get to know the people of Valleyview Bible Church and build lasting relationships!
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing clothes. Which type is up to you! We suggest whatever is most comfortable for you. Most people wear casual clothes, like jeans and a t-shirt, a sweater, etc., but if you prefer formal attire, that is great too!
What about my kids?
Bring them along! During the service the kids are welcome to join in and stay for the songs, but before the message starts, they are dismissed to go have fun in their appropriate age groups! If you have infants, they are more than welcome to stay with you during the service, but we also have a nursery available if you wish. To find out where your kids would fit in check out our Children’s Ministry page.
Do I have to give money?
No! The offering is taken for members and regular attenders to give; you, as a visitor, are not expected to give, but feel free to do so if you are so inclined. The offering is used for the day-to-day running of the church, maintenance, and most importantly, to bless others!
What denomination are you?
We are part of the Mennonite Brethren denomination. Does this mean we don’t use electricity and ride horses to church? No, not at all. Quite the opposite actually; however, we think riding horses to church would be pretty cool... We are affiliated with the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Seriously though, please don’t ride your horse to Valleyview Bible Church, we don’t have anywhere to tie them up!
What exactly do you believe?
We believe what the Bible teaches as the inspired word of God! If you want a detailed breakdown of our beliefs, check our Beliefs section and our Statement of Faith. It probably wouldn't hurt to check out our Core Values & Purpose sections too while you are at it.
